Popup Slapdown
    Popup Slapdown
Popup windows are those advertising windows that appear when you visit some web sites--trying to sell you credit cards, little cameras, movie and TV previews, and more.
Popup Slapdown is a popup window blocker for Internet Explorer that keeps all those ad windows from appearing. It works simply (and even invisibly) in your web browser. When a popup window is detected and blocked, a sound will be played, and the main Internet Explorer window will be flashed. (You can change how those work if you don't want it to flash, etc.)

Some websites do show "good" popup windows you will want, like when you click the "help" for a site, it may popup in a new window. Usually they will appear just fine, but somtimes Popup Slapdown will block them too. If needed, you can hold the CTRL key down when opening a webpage to allow any popups. Another way with more options is to add Popup Slapdown's button to your main Internet Explorer toolbar.

With the "Smart memory" checkbox, you can set so Popup Slapdown better remembers sites where you have allowed popups. With "Smart memory" turned on, Popup Slapdown will remember the sites when you hold the CTRL key and always allow popups for those websites.
